Register for Clean the Bay Day! June 3rd

The registration for Clean the Bay Day is now live!

Every year Virginians all over the state join together to clean litter that jeopardizes the health of Chesapeake Bay. To participate in Clean the Bay Day on Saturday, June 3 register hereThe earlier you register, the more choices you will have regarding cleanup sites. For groups, it is recommended you register early to ensure you can all be at the same location. This year we’re highlighting Zone Captains and their critical work helping Clean the Bay Day run smoothly.

 

The Foundation knows not everyone is able to join the volunteers for the main event, they are again offering a DIY option—
Clean the Bay Your Way
—from June 4th through June 10th. Clean the Bay Your Way gives you the option of cleaning-up when you want with friends, family or by yourself! You’re able to conduct your own cleanup effort on smaller sites like your private property, school, workplace, or anywhere else you have permission. Clean the Bay Day has been a staple for Virginia’s Chesapeake Bay community since its inception more than three decades ago. On June 4, thousands of Virginians will simultaneously work together to restore and protect the Chesapeake Bay by removing litter and debris from its rivers and streams at hundreds of sites all across the Commonwealth.

Can’t make it to the June 4 event? No worries! The week of May 30 to June 3 is Clean the Bay Your Way DIY Week, where you can conduct your own cleanup in your neighborhood, place of work, or anywhere else you have permission, and where you can take care of the disposal safely and properly yourself.

Join Chesapeake Bay Foundation and advocates from across Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania for their first ever virtual Volunteers as Chesapeake Stewards (VoiCes) course.

In the weekly class, you’ll hear from speakers about topics ranging from the challenges facing Bay restoration to steps you can take in your own community to improve the health of your local waterways.

The course will include 1–2 hours of pre-recorded materials to watch at your leisure each week before coming together as a class over Zoom for a brief overview and Q&A with speakers. Some classes will be watershed-wide, while others will be region specific.
