Fairfax County Park Authority Accessible Trails

Fairfax County has over 334 miles of trails in the County Park system. The Park Authority’s goal is to provide the public with a trail network that is safe, enjoyable, flexible, maintainable, and environmentally responsible. The Fairfax County Park Authority is also committed to the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) which includes making programs, services, and facilities accessible for visitors and employees with disabilities. The County does maintain a list of recommended accessible trails within its trail network. A list of FCPA accessible trails can be found below.

RECOMMENDED ACCESSIBLE TRAILS:
All trails listed below were measured from the closest accessible parking spaces on site to the trail and totaled in a round trip format.
- Lee District Park – Chessie’s Big Back Yard: 2,563’
- Green Spring Gardens: 3,240’ (both the interior circular route and the parking lot route are accessible down to the lower ponds)
- Huntley Meadows Park: 15,060’ (stonedust route to the boardwalk)
- Mount Eagle Park: 1,375’ (asphalt)
- Ellanor C Lawrence Park (Mill Pond): 1,252’ (mix of asphalt and stonedust)
- Clemyjontri Park: 3,796’ (asphalt)
- Americana Park: 14,290’ (asphalt)
- Mason District Park: 2,136’ (asphalt)
- Deerlick Park: 1,960’ (asphalt)
- Laurel Hill Park: 6,320’ (accessible parking at the picnic pavilions; asphalt)
- Lake Accotink Park: 24,994’ (asphalt)
- Starting point is the Cross County Trail at the left corner of the railroad bridge/parking lot facing Accotink Stream
- Trail measured from the accessible parking space to Hunter Village Drive
- Hidden Pond Nature Center: 2,780’ (concrete/asphalt)
